Carers Week 2019: Everything You Need To Know
This year, Carers Week takes place from the 10th June – 16th June.
What Is Carers Week?
Carers Week, held annually, is a campaign that aims to raise awareness on the challenges carers face, as well as recognising what carers do for our communities and society as a whole in the UK.
For more information, visit the Carers Week website.
With over 6.5million people estimated to also be unpaid carers for family members, friends, or neighbours, carers week is a fantastic opportunity to find out more how you can either get support as a carer, as someone who needs care, or as someone who personally knows a carer and wants to offer more help.
Carers Week Events
There are a huge number of events in Carers Week across the UK, providing plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved. Last year, the campaign reported over 1,200 events taking place and with Carers Week now being in its 25th year, it’s bigger than ever.
From ‘Time for Me’ tea events, to Carers Advice Clinics, we highly recommend everyone to find an event near you and get involved.
Find a list of carers events near you but do note that more events will be added as the week approaches, so make sure you check back often!
Thank A Carer
You can get involved in supporting the carers you know before June by nomination them via our nomination page.
Our weekly giveaways give anyone the chance to nominate a carer and win them a prize of chocolate, supermarket vouchers, and more, so make sure you’ve entered today!
